syn-rg were asked to create an icon to symbolise the formation of the Tempo Group of companies.

It needed to be powerful, masculine and stand out within the streetscape on building site hoardings, as well as convey an idea of precision and quality construction.

The graphic solution depicts the interlocking 'T' of the Tempo name as a set of building blocks. The three interlocking T's form all three planes of a 3-dimensional environment, as well as forming an upward triangular arrow.

The graphic treatment also allowed the mark to work powerfully in one colour and lent itself strikingly to the creation of an interlocking repeating texture.
